Junior Society of College Youths Copy Peal Book

The Copy Peal Book of the Junior Society of College Youths is kept in the ASCY Library. It starts with a page saying that the Society was instituted in 1820 by 12 people whose names are given. It goes on to chronicle peals, the first being on 28th May 1820. On page 40 it sets out that the College and Junior College Societies were unified on Monday 5 July 1830, listing the SCY officers at the time. On page 48, it is reported that the union was dissolved on Monday 2 July 1832, again giving the names of officers. The last peal is dated 25 February 1839. It is considered that the book was written in the hand of Samuel Austin.
